I bought this AFCK when it was brand new and carried it periodically. The blade is stamped 03/2001 and has the green and blue handle. I know back then it was one of the monthly knives. A while ago I dropped it and both circle BM inserts. I called Benchmade and they couldn't replace them. Is this knife rare or worth anything more than a normal AFCK?

It is the full size model, not the mini....

I can't figure out how to post a pic here of it from my computer??

yes it is

upload the image to something like imageshack.us and then click the "get direct link" part and then paste it into the text box over here

it's similar to this one ?

Not the thumbnail pic dude, the large one. Mmmkay?
EDIT: Here you go:

Thanks! I am not used to using forums yet. Any idea on the value of this or rarity? I would really like to replace the BM logos on it but can't find them.

No problem. Did you lose the logos or did they just fall out and you still have them? The value of any production knife is effected by condition, production numbers, and many other factors. The fact that the knife has been used, dropped, and possibly incomplete does have a negative impact on the value. Why not just keep it and continue enjoying it?

It's pretty rare. It was a Knife of the Month Knife back in 2000.
The handles are unique. I don't think they've been used before or since that knife was released.
I never understood why they didn't make it with a plain edged blade.... IMO the serrations make it not very desirable... except to collectors.

You are spot on with keepig it and enjoying it. The ergoomics on it are better for me than any other knife I own and it has style.

I unfortunately lost the inserts. It fell out of my SWAT locker and god knows whose boots they stuck to or where they rolled.

My curiosity about rarity and value are a deciding factor for me at this point whether or not to pursue doing the repair legwork and whether or not to keep carrying it after I fix it or to put it away as a collector. What do you guys think?

Well, BM ran out of those round stickers about two years ago, so you can't bring it back to the original condition.
Other thing is, this model was made in 2000, when BM celebrated it's 10th anniversary in OR by releasing a monthly 1000 piece run of their most popular models. 1000 is a big number... Yours, in current condition, has no collector value whatsoever. Enjoy this fine knife by using it and don't feel bad about doing so.
