I'd like a fast, very manuverable knive that can rapidly change direction, and also potentially stand up to medium/heavy chopping if called upon to do so. It will be used for kata, and probably light cutting like rope, tatami, etc. I prefer a length of 18" or more, and am considering either the Gelbu Special, Sirupati, or Chitlangi. The kobra is billed as the fastest, but I wouldn't want to depend upon it should heavy chores and chopping be needed. Thank you for your input.

Well the sirupati is "generally" the heavier of the three. Although I have one that I mistook for a Kobra until it was pointed out to me that the cho, and the brass inlays made it a sirupati. A 20" Sirupati is a good all round khuk that is quick, but can do light chopping too.

I have 2- 22" Chitlangi. One is horn handled and weighs 2 lbs. One is an older wooden handle that weighs 1 lb. 4 oz. Lots of variation there. One extremely weapon like, one more general purpose.

My 21.5" Gelbu weighs 1 lb. 11 oz. Something like that should work for you.

The best thing would be to buy several at one time and save shipping costs to Italy!:D

I want to get familiar with HI's kuhkuris a bit before I act like my 5 year old son in a candy shop! For some strange reason, I feel that this will not be my last...
