Hello there -

I acquired this small fixed blade Lum about 18-20 years ago. It appears to be a boot or neck knife, but no sheath came with it. I have tried to do some research as to what model, approximate date of manufacture, value, etc, but can find nothing.

Is anyone familiar with it? Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Glenn

If Mitch Lum is Bob's son, this is the first I've known of this in ten years of knowing Mitch.

Chuck, are you sure of this?

Coop

Mitch is not Bob Lums son nor or they related. It is a common to hear this tho. Mitch jokes about it all the time.

Not a problem. Mitch was nice enough to answer to my email anyway and said he only met Bob 10 years ago. Thanks for your assistance.

Chuck: I know the feeling. I do it every day: DOH!

Glenn: I have a good resource for you. Tony Wang is a friend and the foremost collector of Bob's knives. He knows his work intimately, and created a tribute website:

Forest of A Hundred Lums
This is my memorial and tribute to Mr. Robert Wayne "Bob" Lum, of Eugene Oregon. He was my friend, my mentor, and my favorite custom knife maker. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

You will be able to contact him through the site. Let us know what you find, once you do?

Thanks.

Coop

Coop and others: Tony Wang said he did not believe it to be a standard model and determined it to be at least 25-30 years old due to the logo. He would classify it as a boot knife, but unique in that it has a Stalker blade with a much different handle. He said he would not be surprised if only a few were made.

Thanks again Coop for the referral.
