IMO that wrap is too wide for the handle size. Try a thinner strip and maybe do a Japanese wrap or put rubber Horse mat stall scales on it

ok thanks,
I just wanted to add a little bulk and grip to the handle for the cutting competition and not put too much effort into the look
This leather is what I happened to have in stock, but I can see that it is probably too wide

If it is bulk purely for performance, would wrap a palm swell with twine then go over the whole thing with hockeyfabric tape.

For those south of the 49th, golf club grip tape works well for a quick and grippy handle wrap.

Lmao I used to love to play at the course that was about 2 min from my house growing up :).

Although the golf season is much shorter in terms of days you can play before the frost get here ....
But you probably CANT play at midnight with only natural light in the lower 48
