Need help on selecting a tactical folder as a "leaving the office" gift. Must be suitable to engrave small message and in the $150.00 range. Any help would be appreciated, just trying to make sure I consider all possibilities. Thanks

Take a look at the stainless handled Spyderco knives. They offer a lot of styles with stainless handles that are perfect for engraving. Everything from the Police model to the Native II.

The Benchmade Pinnacle might also be a good choice here. I wonder if the softer Ti handles of the Pinnacle would be easier to engrave than the steel handles of the Spydercos.

Delta-Z has some very nice, high quality aluminum handled liner locks, in some colors too. Engraving down to bare aluminum in a color-anodized handle would be verrry cool. I think Gigand might offer some colored aluminum scales as well.

Tom Mayo does some great talonite blades. You might might want to give him a try!

G-10 also takes to engraving, using the same style engraver used to make nametags. I had my BM905S done with initials and it came out great. Note here, on the BM's, the G-10 is reinforced with titanium liners, I don't know how well G-10 alone, like on the Spydie Police, would stand up to such.
