Well I can't make up my mind, I'm buying myself a late Xmas knife, so once again I've come to you guys for help. This will be my first BM and I've narrowed it down to these three.

420 Resistor - does this look as cool in person as on the various web sites? I like this one with the black coated blade.

710 - I like this in the uncoated version but the vendor is getting some of the M2 versions.

670 Apparition - I really liked the Axis lock of the other two, so I almost removed this from consideration, but it's a nice looking knife.

As far as my cutting needs go, I'm a weekend hunter / fisherman / target shooter , but I work in an office and I carry mid - sized pocket knives in my pocket ( not clipped ).

Thanks for the input

My vote would be the 710, The M2 is a plus, and the axis is SOOOOOO smooth. But just my 2 cents.

The 420 has thick liners, heavy knife, you may want to handle it before getting it. Might be too big for your carrying at work. The 670 is really nice, but of the ones listed I'd say go with the 710 to start. A classic model.

I have the Griptilian and I love it, but if you think the Snody Resistor is cool, which I do too, I'll give that my vote. I don't have it, but I really like the looks of it and if I was going for another BM I'd pick up one of those, or a 920Good luck!

I have to agree, grab a 710 NOW, in M2.:D

You can snag one in 154cm later and polish the hell out of it, but grab a M2 version now if the 710 interests you at all.

I say it like that as, if you like one enough to buy it, you will wonder what the other version was like, and in this case, its a sweety.

Any of the listed ones will make a nice start to a fella starting out with BM's.

Enjoy your new partical multiplier.

Love the Pika, economical, good steel, good feel, great lowrider clip, an overall good value.

No skirmish on you list!!!???

I am skirmish all the way, regular, mini, all good. Although BM is famous by its Axis lock, but after collecting a few knives, fram lock is my favorit.

personal taste apply, as for Axis lock, i like:
420sbk, 940 series. 420 resistor is thick for sure, but it really has personality. 940 is simply beautiful to look at.

amoung all BM, skirmish series is my favorit. Take a look 630/635 if you haven't.

I really like the Apparition. Especially the limited-edition black blade one with the matte bolsters. It'd be great for the kind of work you do. The 710's great, but maybe a little big for office wear, although it's thin and doesn't print much.

The 710 is your best bet of those three. I had an apparition and it was a major let down. Mainly because it was so heavy and the cheap plastic scales they use.

My default recommendation, especially if you need soemthing not too big for office carry is a Benchmade 941, or the black version, the 943. It's all the sweetness of a 940, but with a more traditional clip piont blade design. Smooth, slick and sweet.

Having said that, I recently saw a Rukus up close and have to say that Neil Blackwood's designed a home run in my eyes. The Rukus is a big knife, but looks small in the pocket :)

I hear nothing but good stuff about the Griptilians, but so far, they haven't caught my eye enough to buy one.

"As far as my cutting needs go, I'm a weekend hunter / fisherman / target shooter , but I work in an office and I carry mid - sized pocket knives in my pocket ( not clipped )."

Based on the above statement, and the 3 you mentioned, the 710 gets my vote.
Not exactly a clipless midsize in the pocket knife, but it would fit your "cutting needs" better (imho), and that's what blades do best.:)

Since I have all three on your list, I heartily recommend the 710 (in any form, but especially D2). The 420 is a large, thick and heavy piece. Almost too heavy for pocket carry. The 670, IMHO, is also thick and heavy. Again, almost too heavy for anything other than jeans pockets. And the Activator is kinda gimmicky. The 710 in D2 is the best of the three. Light, slim, easy to carry. And the AXIS is a dream. And, if I'm not mistaking, the first of the Benchmades to have the AXIS. Go for the 710-you will not regret it.

707 for the office.

710 for shooting/hunting/fishing, etc.

710 is simply too big for the office. My office anyway. ;)

What's the deal here?

Nobody is talking about the only BM's with multiple blades and that aren't black (well almost aren't black). I like the 921/923's Switchbacks. Axis lock, s30V steel and 440C steel blades. And they are "general public" friendly.

You don't see or hear about them much but they are great knives, IMHO. That little blade is good for cutting up limes slices for Coronas!!!

Why have just one blade on a folder I asked myself.

Thanks guys , I appreciate it , I'll get the 710.....

Happy New Year to everyone.
