Im looking for an all around fixed blade and Spyderco is my favorite folder manufacture so i figured a fixed blade from them would be perfect for me as well. I am looking for an all around camp knife, ive narrowed it down to the rock, Southfork, and Spyderco bushcraft in o1. It honestly wont be used much because i always carry a folder and rarely do bushcraft woodworking type things, but i feel that a fixed blade may be a better choice for what im doing. Im studying environmental science with my time split between hydrology and concervation biology so i spend alot of time outdoors and the edge may be used for wood occasionally but i doubt i will be chopping much. The blade length of the rock and the grip angle make it appear to be more of a chopper than the others but im not sure. The toughness of the o1 over s90v and vg10 makes the bushcraft appealing but the 4 inch length, and leather sheath have me a little worried. The Southfork is the most aesthetically pleasing of the 3 but i have no experience with s90v. I always think i want a larger blade but in use the 4.8in of the Southfork seems perfect.

Do i need the length of the rock? or would the Southfork or bushcraft be a better choice.

Thanks - Stanley

Im also considering this a life long user investment so price of the 3 is not an issue.
