need help planning trip (N CA and OR) :-)

Planning on visiting SF and taking a little tour of the bay, Alcatraz, Golden Gate, etc.

From there I was thinking of driving North on 101 up to mid Oregon (Florence), then cutting back to 5 and heading South to Nevada.


Any cool places you folks recommend as must see?
