i have decided to buy a strider MFS. i have also read that many people believe that s30v is better than ats 34. Everywhere I look though the MFS is sold with ats 34 steel, even I also read at many said strider had switched to s30v. Does anyone know a link to a site that sells the MFS with s30v or is it not sold with that metal? Would help if they could sell to norway as well thanks for any replies

My guess is that some applications require different steels and then different heat treatments. (In this case, Paul Bos. I think Mr. Bos could heat treat a foil gum wrapper and it probably would hold an edge.)

For example, some of Strider's fixed blades are ATS-34. Some folders were BG-42. Both my AR and my SnG are S30V.

It could even be as simple as how the metal is sold. I know that some 154-CM comes as ball bearings, and the new S30V comes in sheet sizes so the cutlers have an easier time of cutting out the basic blade shape.

My recommendation is to buy from the 'man.' If Mick Strider handed me a knife of unknown alloy, and he told me that it met all of Strider's strength and retention parameters, I would carry that knife without question. A Chinese knock-off, however, would get my skepticism.

Thanks a bunch for replying. I guess my questions have been asked too many times. Anyways I would like to contact the strider guys bu dont have their email, if you happen to know it I would appreciate obtaining it.
