My Kershaw Chill was being really difficult to open, when it used to open fast as lightning. So I took it apart, and sure enough, there was a bunch of gunk around the pivot. That being said, all the washers and stuff fell out so I have no earthly clue how to put it back together. Here's a picture of what I have.

It's not a huge deal if it's not fixable; I have an extra one, but I really wanted to have one myself, and one to give to a friend of mine. Thanks, guys.

what i would do, take the top scale and liner off, put the pivot screw thru the scale and liner that is still assembled, put the washers then blade then washers, then the liner and scales, screw together.

im not sure you may have to play with it alittle to decide to put the knife back together with the blade open or closed and see what works better

hope that helps, im not good at wording things lol

Edit: oil is also a good thing while the knife is apart

Well the two bigger washers are different colors. Does it matter which one is on which side? Do the smaller ones go on the inside, touching the blade?

i would guess that the larger washers go inside, only because the pic you poster looks to me like the wear in the blade is larger, around the pivot hole of the blade what does the wear look like in person? a smaller washer inside the larger should leave 2 circles worn into the blade instead of one, but im not 100%

and about them being 2 different colors... i really dont know, maybe someone will post with alittle more knowledge than me, on the models i have they only have 2 washers and both the same color

Are the washers the same material? Also, can you see a wear pattern on the big washers where the little washer rides?

I fixed it. I didn't even think of using the wear on the liner and blade as a guide to which washers go where. Anyways, if anyone needs to know how to do this in the future, heres how it goes. Excuse the lack of term knowledge.
It's best to do this with the blade open, with the pin through the pivot hole
One small, gold colored washer goes on the back of the knife, between the liner and the blade. On the other side of the blade goes the large, copper colored washer, the second small, gold colored washer, then the large, black colored washer. Make sure to put the small metal pin in place just behind the top of the blade. Put the large hex screw back through the hole, and screw in the last three small hex screws, making sure that all the layers (Liners, scales) are pressed firmly together, and are aligned properly.
It took me a couple tries, as the blade kept scraping against the liner; so I had to take apart the whole knife and put it back together again, with the washers in a different order. It works like new now, though, and I think it was pretty fun.
