Dear Members - May I please ask for your expert advice?
Recently I purchased Lone Wolf Knives Harsey T3 (used but in pretty good condition, still factory edge, sharp...) knife and got an amazing deal since it was listed used and looked slightly dirty/very light rust-ish stains on screws... The knife looks like it sat in one place for 15+ years and nobody used it or even cleaned it well.
I need to clean the knife screw areas, unscrew them, take it apart and clean all the parts and details with Alcohol pad and then lubricate with Tuf Glide.
My question 1: How do I clean those dirty & lightly rusty areas? If I use WD40 and let it sit for 10 mins, would not that damage the handles? Is there any other chemical I can use that will remove all the dirt rust and make taking apart the knife easy?
My question 2: Would Benchmade LifeSharp honor Lone Wolf Knives sharpening, cleaning & oiling maintenance service? Should I send it to Benchmade instead?
Appreciate your help! You guys are awesome!
