I bought a al mar wortak (ps) and it came with only one side sharpened. On on side you can see the edge, and it will shave hair. On the other side you can not see the edge and it is not sharp at all. How can I fix this or do I need to? I have only a sharpmaker to work with. Any suggestions?

from my vast amount of limited experiance i would say its ment to be like that.

i think thats called single bevel and the fact that its one sided makes it sharper but may make it weaker.

im sure the pros will answer your questions better

From your description I think Drakoon is right. There's no need to 'fix' it, it just requires a different technique for sharpening. You need to match that one bevel and only grind on that side, then give the other side a few light, shallow strokes to remove the burr.

a chisel edge, you have there. be careful not to "create" a bevel on the flat side, otherwise, the angle of the edge becomes way too obtuse.
