Need Help Smoothing G-10 Scales!

I have recently acquired a UKPK. It's a great knife, and I plan on carrying it a lot at work because it's discreet. The only problem is that the G-10 beneath the clip is too grippy.

I would guess that circular rubbing with fine grit sandpaper would be good for smoothing the G-10.

Is this a good idea?

Any advice on what grit to use?

Get wet dry sandpaper, and keep it nice and wet. Or you can wear a respirator, I personally dislike them.

With wet/dry sandpaper you could probably do the sanding underwater if you really wanted to.
