Hello there!

I received it new as a gift in 1981 (when I was in the Army). I like to know what model it is. It has 6 layers (I think). Long blade, short blade; file, fish scaler; scissors; magnifying lens, Phillips head screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver/bottle opener, can opener blade, and on the back a thin flat blade screwdriver, a awl and a corkscrew. Had a toothpick and a tweezer pull outs.

Found many very close matches. I thought at one time it was either a Champion or a Companion model, but it does not match the pictures that I can find of those two.

It has seen better days, so my next question would be where to take it (I'm in Mesa, AZ) to get it refurbished (mainly get the main blade resharpened/replaced?).

I can't open the link so I can't have a look. Hard to say...I doubt it is an Outdoorsman because the Outdoorsman has a wood saw and a multipurpose hook but no file.
Are we talking about Victorinox? 91mm model? 6 layers?
Could you post another image? That would be helpful. Thanks.

I can't see the picture because you used google drive and it wants me to log in.

Just a quick note which may or may not apply here:

I have noticed from my time on ebay that some people can misidentify the wood saw as a liner which separates layers. They don't realize that it's actually a tool. Your SAK might have a saw but you just didn't realize it. I don't know for sure though because I can't see the picture.

The Master Fisherman is another with the scaler. There is a mermaid(?) on one of the OEM scales.
Has scissors and pliers, too. No saw.

To open the saw there is a small tab (about 3/32 inch long?) on the main blade pivot end; no nail nick on the saw blade..
(photo of a Huntsman, but the saw blade is the same.)

Disregard. I mistook one of the back springs sticking out as another tooth that I thought hadn't been pulled out.

Those attempting to decipher the meaning of this post are advised to read "tooth" as "tool" and scroll up to view the image in the first post where there is a back spring next to the key ring which is protruding from the body of the SAK because an open tool on the same layer is pressing against it, thus mimicking the appearance of a 4th back side implement when in fact there are only 3.

;)

Thanks for catching my typo (or more accurately, my phones typo). I'll leave it there for comic relief 😁 .

Found my answer. It is a Champion Original, aka Champion-C model. :)

Yours has 6 layers, according to you.

According to SAKwiki, the Champion C is a 7 layer model.

"The six-layer models (Champion a/b) were introduced in 1952 and were manufactured up until 1974, following the introduction of the seven-layer model (Champion c) in 1973."
