Hi all, I really could use a quick answer on this if possible-

Did John Greco ever make a model called: Custom Fighter #1?

This one has stag scales and the "GRECO" makers mark is not on the ricasso area where John's current models are marked. This one has the mark running parrallel to the blade, close to the hilt area, it is however in a crescent shape like John's. It has a 3 7/8" blade and comes with a LIGHT brown sheath.

I'd appreciate any help on this greatly.

Thanks in advance!

Mongrel,

It sounds like you have a Greco knife. John use to make a large variety of stag mounted hunters and fighters, some of them in cable domascus. The plain blades were often powder coated (they look grey)and came with leather sheaths. Around 1997 his knives started taking on the black (tactical?) look that we see today.

Post a picture if you can.

Mongrel,

That is a fairly recent Greco knife. Probably about 2-3 years old at most. The 01 marked on the blade is the steel type.

Did that link work for you? I didn't think it worked!

Or are you looking at another picture of that model?

Anyway.....still thinking....
