:mad::grumpy: This is total BS. I feel like a complete idiot and I'm ready to smash my laptop. Somebody, Anybody PLLEEAASSSEE Help. What is a file extension. How do I upload photos from my camera to my new photobucket account. Man, I've just about lost my patience. I'm not a stupid person. I cannot believe that I can't figure this out. Help PLEASE Help. Thanks. -DT

I don't know how to upload from my camera to Photobucket. I upload to my computer off the camera's USB cradle, then Photobucket can upload from My Pictures in Windows.

What operating system are you running? You're probably just going to have to open the camara up as a external drive, and upload to photobucket that way...

For some reason, I'm not given that option automatically when I plug my camera into the usb. Unfortunately I left the memory card out of my camera when I took the photos. Normally I stick that right in the side of my laptop when dealing with photos. Then I can copy them to my hard drive. I have been @#$%ing with this for about an hour now. Starting to lose my temper.

Windows XP Pro

When I go to upload it tells me Invalid File Type. I don't know how to make it right. How many different picture file types are there. I have a Nikon S50. Thanks for your help guys. Trying to post a passaround review.

Ohh. Expensive camara? You could be shooting in a RAW camara format or something. I'd check the settings on the camara. You're going to want to be shooting in JPG (JPEG) format. Unless you've got something like Photoshop or Adobe Bridge.

It's just a little point and shoot. Was ~$300 when I bought it a couple years ago. You could probably buy the equivalent/superior replacement for a little over $100 today. Silly thing is, I worked in a camera store when I was younger. I got out of the camera business before digital took over. And, ironically, I deal with digital photos almost daily in my work. The specialized software I use makes it just a plug sd card in scroll down to :f storage device double click on photo operation. This is frustrating the hell out of me.

Open up the F: drive (camera card) and check to see what file types they are.

Take a break. Working steadily to the point of frustration probably means you'd miss the answer when you came across it. Come back to it and run through your options slowly and it may click.

Excellent advice from both of you. I need to put this down for a little while or I am going to break something. I'm usually very calm and collected. :o Well, most of the time anyway. Thanks for the assist. -DT

First off, your problem is not how to upload from the camera to Photobucket. Your problem is how to upload from the camera to your computer. Once you get the pictures on your computer you know how to upload them to Photobucket, so save that step for later.

Most cameras will NOT open as an external storage device with the software built into Windows. You need special software for that camera. If you no longer have the disks that came with the camera go to the camera manufacturer's website. That's probably a good idea even if you still have the disks; you'll be sure to get the latest version from the website.

Even after you've installed the TWAIN driver software the camera (probably) won't open as an external drive in My Computer. You'll have to run the program and use that to copy the pictures to your computer. After that you can go to My Computer and proceed as you normally do.
