need help w/ this knife

I have a fixed blade buck knife...the blade is 5 1/2 inches long with a black rubber handle it also has a serrated type edge on top of point of blade.....also it has 639 / on the handle,what knife is this and do any of you know where I can buy another...thanks

Sounds like you have a Fieldmaster. Does it have a sawback? The blade mark shows that it's a model 639 and it was made in 1994. The handle materialis Kraton. They've been discontinued for a long time so you would just have to get lucky, finding another one.

Looks like a buck Fieldmate without the top serrations (teeth like a saw on top of the blade). One of the more knowledgeable folks will be able to answer your question better.

I checked that knife out and Buck made about 7700 of them back in 1994. After the standard 639 was discontinued, Buck had extra blades in stock and used them up by doing specials like the one in the picture.
Hope this helps.

After almost a decade between the two, that handle looks the same as my1988 619 handle. Just an observation.

I have one just like 3E’s. It didn’t cost a lot. The funny thing is the seller said he wanted something more tactical. I suggested he get a flamethrower. He only looked blankly at me.

The answer is ..... yes.
I would use it ,if it has already been used and with original box and papers
and unused I would collect it....
