Need help. What Edge pro stones do I need

Hey guys, need some advice on what stones to buy for a used Edge Pro I have coming in the mail.
All that's coming is the system itself so I need to buy a whole set of stones. I'm looking to achieve near
a mirror edge on a tight budget so I'm looking for the best stones for the job at a good price.

So far I have been looking at the Congress Tools Mold Master stones. I've heard good reviews and as far
as price it looks like they can't be beat. What grits are needed from start to finish. Going to need a stone
that will be able to handle steels like S30V, M4, M390, and various steels of that caliber. Any other stones
are highly recommended for the Edge Pro but at a decent price?

And how far should I go before jumping to a strop. A list of stones and the grit progression needed for a semi
to mirror edge would be great. Should I get the strops that are designed to be used with the Edge Pro or just
a normal strop. What compounds are best? Diamond spray, green or black compound, etc?

Thanks for any help in advance and can't wait to post some pics of the edges I'll be putting on my knives very

My advice is to check with Chef Knives To Go. I bought the Edge Pro with the Shapton Glass Stones. It also came with a bovine strop .
You can get any configuration, pretty much.
I have the:
320, 500, 1000, 4000, 8000 and the strop.
I get a mirror polish on all my chefs knives and my folders (S35VN, 154-CM, CMP-S30V)
Anyway, my 2cents.

Yours came with a strop? I have the same set up but with no strop. I love the glass stones and wouldnt use anything else. To the OP, what type of budget are you working with?
 
I'd get the Shapton Glass Stones from CKTG, and either DMT or ATOMA diamond stones as well.

You could start with 220,500,1000 and 2000 and add the others as budget permits.

Add the diamond plates as needed.
