Found a couple vintage Tim Britton knives that I find gorgeous and I wish to make mine. The seller is giving me a fair deal, but I cannot figure out how this folder is supposed to work. He allowed me to take pictures so I could ask for help.
Scrimshaw is done by RE Skaggs. I cannot figure out why the lock is the way it is. It doesn't lock up tight and cannot figure out what the hole is for. Worst part is when it is fully closed I cannot open again. No nail nick in the blade, and no way to push open.. Pic does not show fully closed. It closes with very little blade showing.
The other knife is a gorgeous fixed blade, awesome stag, and engraving by George Sherwood, signed on the spine. Blade had rust bad enough to pit in a small spot, but was limited to that area. No idea how someone could let this knife get that bad. Could that be buffed or polished, or should it be left alone?...
Thanks for any help on how that critter is supposed to work!
