I'm looking for a new tent, and will be using it on a trip to the black hills SD in august. I'm looking for a light weight tent with a mesh construction. My brother has the huba huba, and I like it but don't know if I want to drop that much. It needs to sleep 2(both 5'11" and 200lbs), I also would prefer 2 doors, and 2 vestibules. I open to suggestions. I was looking at the Asolo velocity(but 1 door and small vestibule), kelty salida, and nemo espri 3. I'd like to keep the cost under $300, and under $250 would be even better. I am also looking for a light weight summer sleeping bag if you have any suggestions for those too let me know. Thanks for all the help.

Check out the REI T2 Plus. I am 6'5 and love mine.

In terms of a lightweight sleeping bag. Check out the 45 degree Cross Mountain by Big Agnes. Pair this with a mummy pad and you are light weight and sleeping well.

I love rei, and that's probably where I'll go. On a side note, everyone on BF must be 6'5" :) or at least everyone that responds to my questions

If you're going to REI, see if they will be having any of their "garage sales" for used gear. I have found some incredible deals on packs, tents and even boots (Not the nasty super used ones, but literally worn once that look brand new!)

It's bit more than your budget but you deserve a good tent.
Look up the Sierra Designs Lightning HT 3. It's a 3-person but fits 2 adults + gear perfectly.

Not very techie or trendy, but take a look at Springbar if you want a well made US product that will last a lifetime.
I love mine.

Actually you might want to look into Bear Paw Designs. http://www.bearpawwd.com/ very reasonable prices.
I haven't got one, but well liked by the ultralight community.

But if you're looking for dome style freestanding tent, then that's not what they do.

My rule of thumb regarding tents; get a tent rated for one more adult then you plan to put in it. In other words a three man tent for two guys. Otherwise you'll feel like two guys spooning in a twin bed. Ever seen the movie "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" ?
