Definitely not designed for auto like deployment. If all you have been using is AO knives, then the only thing to do here is realize that this is not one of those knives, and is not meant to be one of those knives. It requires carefully controlled hand movements and practice, nothing more. As for the breaking it in issue, so many people want to break their knives in immediately, which is the same as buying some new shoes and soaking them in oil, running them through dirt, and having a million miles on them. Makes no sense. It's a process that should not be hurried and actually takes the enjoyment right out of a new knife. Why the need to make a new knife and turn it into what an old knife is at a faster rate? Just my thoughts, your call.
