So today I picked up my new axe head which is a granfors bruks but I'm not too sure about much else. Its 4 1/2 pounds and from tassie so is it possible it could be a tasmanian pattern? The epoxy handle and blue paint I havent seen used before either any idea how old it could be?

I'd call it a Tasmanian.
I can't find the page of a 70's or 80's (I think) catalog that Steve Tall posted but it showed their offerings with markings rectangle punched somewhat like that.

Did Granfors make a Connecticut or just a Tasmanian pattern? Was the Tasmanian offered in/or popular in Sweden?

Here is a similar mark on a different pattern. Of note is that the Crown/GBA is still present.
