I am new to collecting and, I aquired an old Case knife yesterday, that i'm not familiar with. From the tang stamp it looks like 1920/1940, but because the backside is blank, I don't know the knife pattern.
Judging from the low backspring, hand peened pins and an oblong hole in the bolster for the nail, I would say it is a counterfeit. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you didn't pay a lot for it.
I'd say reworked "navihawk"; however, the C on the tang stamp doesn't quite have that downward tic at the top of the C. It's obvious this knife has been polished to the extreme; therefore, the downward tic at the top of the C could have been polished out.
