I think it is 420J2

I would say with near certainty that apprentices are not practicing on INFI. It costs way too much.

Yeah, I have never heard of any apprentice knives being made of INFI. I am just hoping that this particular one is A2. Apparently, it is a very rare one. The only other pic of one I have seen is from badmojo. I wish Jerry or Garth would chime in here and give us the scoop.

I know a Hog that has a Snakeskin handled SH Apprentice blade.......it was very nice to see it a Blade.

I don't think I could break THAT one in Tyrkon's stump ....I'm sure it'll be an awesome performer! A2 OR 5160 you know it's a premium steel with a spot on heat treat coming out of the Busse shop . Love to see pictures of it doin what it do best though! Do work!
