Need help with Jimmy Lile knife

I have had this knife for almost 20 years, all I know is that it is an original (pre-death) Jimmy Lile Big 7. I am trying to find out what steel the legendary knifemaker used: it is certainly not stainless since I have noticed some very light pitting along the edge, even though I religiously use Tuff-Cloth. It could be D2 because I know Lile used it on many of his knives, but the satin finish is very smooth for D2 and the steel has a somewhat "golden" glow to it.
So, any Lile experts around?
