Hi.

I bought a 599XT Fox Karambit with a back lock and love the knife. There is no blade play and the Emerson wave works well for a fast draw. My problem is that the lock bar is really stiff and is killing my thumb making one hand close impossible. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion on reducing the stiffness of the lock bar?

So far, have had several suggestions to leave the karambit in the half open position (90 degrees) for two or 3 days and then work it. Another said to lube the spring. So I'm going to try those. Any other suggestions?

Leaving it open won't do anything. Whether a spring is in loaded or relaxed position, nothing is happening. In order to weaken the spring, it must simply be used. Constant loading and unloading(opening & closing). You can also take it apart and modify the spring and lock bar. Manually weaken the spring, and polish the edges off the lock bar where your thumb makes contact.
