I'm looking for a new EDC pocket knife. I like the looks of the knight, prince, and squire. However, I'm unsure which of these is what I'm looking for. I don't want something that is too heavy in my pocket but I don't want something too small either. I'm used to carrying something the size of a spyderco navigator or dragonfly so I'd like to stay within that blade length. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the help,
Clay

I AGREE with Jake!! Can't go wrong with a BUCK 532, maybe even a few of them. :D

That model 532 looks like it is exactly what I'm looking for. However, I'm having a hard time finding them on-line. I saw other of the 500 series on the Buck site but not the 532. Any suggestions on where I may find this one?

gailt,
you're not far from where I grew up over in Whitesburg, KY.

Thanks,
Clay

AC,
The 532 is not a standard production Buck Knife. It is brought out every few years as a Limited Edition. The last time they were produced was in 2000 EDITED - I almost forgot the Mastadon Ivory Handled one as part of the 4 knife Centennial "Family Favorites" with an MSRP of $3000 and they came in three colors (walnut, red, and Indigo blue). This last set all had BG-42 blade steel, this exotic steel is used in the bearing of thrust reversers of jet engines. The liners are "fileworked", usually seen only in custom knifes. I see them from time to time on Ebay, lately it has been few and far in between. One sold just recently for about $70. The actual dealer cost was about $50 for this last version. There is a shop here in Nashville TN that has all colors available. His price is either $84.99 or $89.99 (forget and I was just by there) + tax. I will be happy to get one for you if you will pay that and the shipping. I am a big fan of this knife as you can probably tell and have about 14 different ones. I know that you would be happy with this choice of a knife for daily use. Glad to help! Peace,

AC_23 we were practically neighbors. Are you in college at moorehead?
I bought my 532 over on knife forums.

Sawby,
Thank you for the offer but I'd like to try to trade up for one first as my knife finances are low at the moment. Thank you again for the kind offer.

gailt, I graduated MSU back in DEC. We moved here about 5yrs ago. I still go by Wise pretty frequently when we visit.

Thanks,
Clay

Hey! this is my 200th post!

AC_23 i sent you an e-mail where you might pickup a 532 for a reasonable price.

Hey folks, thanks for all of your help. I just traded for a 532 and it came in today. I'm really impressed with this knife. I was hoping to use it as an EDC but it is such an attractive knife I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do so.

Thanks,
Clay
