need help with my herder knife.

does anybody know where or how to find a thumb rest for my Herder's skinning knife, it's a 6.25" blade, very old but looks brand new. I was cleaning it and the thumbrest popped off and I cannot find it to save me life. I'd like to find a new one for it.

What did it look like? I'm not aware of a removable thumb test on a Herder.

Herder from Germany or Herder of Philadelphia?

If Herder of Germany, try asking the German factory - http://www.herder-solingen.de/e/index.htm . It's a long shot, but they might have parts laying around or know a US source.

Herder of Philadelphia is long gone, but you might try looking at Dexter Russell, as they made some models with thumb rests, and might be a source.

Yep. I have one of those too with that same thumb rest and it's the exact same. I just need one like it, But where to find one?

Thanks, Yep, it's very similar to that but it's stainless steel....an inch long,.....and rectangular on top with both sides being concave to hug the blade.

lol pictures dude!!! A lot of people (myself included ) will just hit back immediatly if you don’t have one or two showing what your talking about. I stuck around because I’ve never heard of the knife.
