Need help with my lanyard!! (pics)

Hi all!

I tied this myself with the basic idea of having it go around my wrist and also have a finger loop.

The main loop is pretty solid but the finger loop is loose and I cant figure out how to make the twirl design with the cord.

Any ideas to make my lanyard better or instructions appreciated.

There's an easier way. Tie a long loop of paracord through the lanyard hole. Hang the knife by that loop from your thumb, with the loop across the back of your hand. Rotate your palm down and grip the handle.

You will now be able to estimate the correct length of the loop.
 
For that "twirl" design you might just want to do a tightened hangman's knot in the middle there.

I'm not a big fan of hanging lanyards like that, but you could also do a turks head knot in the middle and round the ends off.

Better still do the main loop, then a 2x2 lanyard, then the finger loop, then end with a turks head.
