Hi guys & gals,
I just ordered a Northwoods Bullet Knife in bone (it was shipped today) and I'm looking ahead at my next purchase.
What can you tell me about these two knives....

Northwoods Gunstock pattern in wood and the Queen Cutlery #40 Gunstock pattern in carved stag bone.

Both knives are similar, 3 1/2" with two blades, and price for both is about the same.

I'd love to hear pros and cons.

Thanks.......Bruno

The Northwoods gunstock you're looking at was made by Queen. So it really just comes down to your preference.

I had a cocobolo gunstock, wish I would've kept it. Their fit and finish has gotten better, some stinkers still slip through. My Northwoods stockman is a great example of what Queen has been doing right.

Toss a coin, both should be well made.

From the current Northwoods thread:
Glad you guys are liking the Northwoods.

A little history.

Dave Shirley started the company. He had Queen make his knives. He was always dodgy about who made his knives....but they were Queen. He would ask them to do a few more steps to make the F&F better. It worked. :)

If you're unsure, the Northwoods might be the safer bet, as far as good fit and finish? But a good Queen is very very good....

Thanks for the replies.

What type of wood is used on the Northwood?
And please don't say NORTH :D
