Hello, I am new to the forum and new to the complications and variations on Fairbairn Sykes daggers. I have a few, not really collected, but picked up. I am not at all sure about the knife described below and I would like for someone with expertise to look at photos of it and tell me whether you think it is genuine. I have just learned about Imgur and I hope my pics come through. From what I have read, this is what I may have:

Second pattern, first type: Knurled grip is either damaged on one side or poorly completed. Blade is intact except for a small gap in the plating. Guard is marked with the broad arrow and a clear letter B. Spacing of the B is close to the edge and there is a slight hint of another character. (2?) Sheath is well worn, as is the knife. Came with the elastic strap cut. Bought off the web some years ago.

Imgur link (I hope.)

You can post photos by uploading them to a free photo hosting site, such as imgur and others.
You can post the actual picture by using the 5th icon from the right at the top of the posting box.
Or you can just post the link directly.

Thanks. Did it with Imgur. Unfortunately, nobody interested.

Hmm well its an interesting piece. I should state up front that I am no expert. That said there are some oddities about this knife. It appears to have a plated brass handle. I'm aware of fs knives with brass handles of course but I did not think they were plated. The poor casting seems very suspect to me. Also the end of the knurling seems to be extremely rough or unfinished. The stamp definitely appears to be a b2 which I is the most desirable and therefore the most forged variant. The 2 is out of line with the b which I have never seen before and the arrow shaft seems pretty long. Could be that some one was just having a bad day at the shop, but I wonder. Finally is the blade plated? One of pictures shows either a section of plating coming off or discoloration in that area.

I will state that I am even less of an expert but to me this knife looks wonky as hell
