Need help with Severe Blade Off Centering on Benchamde Torrent Nitrous System

This has been ticking me off since I bought the knife and it has just been getting worse and worse. I tried cleaning the knife out without taking it apart and it didn't help at all. Either the blade touches the liner, or I pull it off of the liner a half of a millimeter and the blade wont fire all the way or at all. What can I do? Take it apart and clean it? Take it apart and adjust something? Is there anything I can do beside send it back to Benchmade. I am extremely disappointed. When the knife is open there is no side to side play when the blade will just barely fire well

Sorry about that. I do have shorts on. What do you mean, shear the scales? Cut the scales??????
 
Same problem, same knife. I found that the scale on the screw side had not be drilled square. When I removed the screws the scale (with no pressure on it) still sitting on the pivot was about 1/2 lifted of the end. When pushing down on the scale to force it against the frame it would then force the blade to hit the side. I never noticed this the first two times I took it apart, I just happened to stop after setting the scale in place before putting in any screws. I drilled out the hole in the scale to the next drill in my lettered index and everything is now perfect!!

Only problem I had /have is when re-assembling the last time I very carefully put lock tight on the center pivot screw and then had to take it back apart and remove and clean everything as lock tight seems to go everywhere except in the hole!
