Need help with TOPS knives

I owned over a dozen of TOPS knives and love them. I've used the Steel Eagle and DART in the woods. Very well made even for 1095 steel as it holds an age like a rock. I accidentally cut through a nail which I never knew after i found rest of that nail on the ground. DART's edge has no dent at all. TOPS heat treatment is very good, even for their 1095. My only regrets is that they don't do full flat grind on their blade. Because of their sabre grind, blade's are not balanced properly and feels very heavy on the hand. Wish I could get all my tops knives a good full flat grind just like my Swamp Rat M9 (my most favorite). Can you guys know who can custom full flat grind my TOPS blades with a smooth coating as 1095 rusts very fast. TOPS black coating is very good than what I seen on other custom knives.

You might try Justin @ Ranger Knives.
Tom Krein might do bigger blades as well.
You could also write TOPS and see if they do that sort of thing.

This might be a pricey mod.
Could be a lot cheaper to just buy a flat ground knife from someone like ESEE. They do 1095 as well as TOPS does.

With the Thickness: 1/4" your best bet is a convex edge.
We're talking about a lot of steel to be removed...
Any knifemaker near your home can do that.you can do that yourself.
& then take all coating off and cold or hot bluing, works much better and easy to do.
You will increases performance for Good for sure:yawn:

Convex & cold bluing finished Steel Eagle:)

Thanks Guys. I think I found my answers. Hot bluing is also on my list. These Tops knives are well made. I wish they made grinding more functional instead of more tactical.
