Need help with zt 0350 please

So I finally got the ZT in and there’s a rattle somewhere near the pivot and I can’t figure it out. Do any of y’all have any ideas? It only rattled like this when open, not closed. https://share.icloud.com/photos/09nU6GmvnlJkdvaeoMdT8kQLQ

That noise is the torsion bar, the mechanism behind the Speedsafe. When the blade is closed, the torsion bar/spring is under tension and is not able to move within its movement channel. Once the blade is deployed, it is no longer under tension and may end up making a slight rattling noise as it is at rest in the channel.

What you can do is disassemble the knife and apply some grease of any kind to the torsion bar pocket to keep it from moving around too much. That is what KAI USA does from the factory.

But don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with the knife.

It is the assisting spring, generally it’s OK, but from factory there should be some kind of thick grease which keep this spring quiet. You get it new or from exchange? Maybe somebody cleaned up this grease

Yup. Nothing wrong other than there being no grease on the torsion bar from rattling. Your options are to live with it, take it apart to add some grease, or I believe ZT would do it for you.

If I’m doing a thorough cleaning and it’s a Speedsafe knife, I’ll apply some Lucas Red N Tacky in the torsion bar pocket.
