I apparently have lost my old fillet knife and I am hoping to get a new one soon. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive fillet knife with good steel? Pics welcome

Mora makes some nice ones in 12C27 Sandvik, the 155 looks nice, I need to get one. I haven't fished enough recently to justify one though.

Yes rapala! Its what I use for most my fish skinning. Buck has a pretty affordable line of fillet knives to that you might want to check out.

Rapala or Fiskars - low cost, decent edge holding and flex, and they float.

Mine is the Mora 6" fillet knife, model 155 I think and made out of Sandvik steel. It's hard to beat for $20. I wholeheartedly recommend it

My vote is for the Mora - I think you get better steel for the money ($19 for standard; $25 with scaler).

Opinel makes a good one that also folds.
