Need help!

Cqc-8 or horseman? Not much else to ask but jeez is this a hard decision. No I'm not getting both lol. Like I've said before the mini commander handle was a little to short. The commanders handle is awesome but It's a pretty big knife and I'm afraid the cqc8 will be way to big. Any help?

The 8 is a big knife. It was my first Emerson. It's roughly the size of a Spyderco military length wise and but a way different beast. I say horseman, but it's just small for my hand. It fits my brothers hand just fine, so it is with him now.

I say super 8 (jk). Get the Horseman
 
That's tough, because size is a personal preference. I personally enjoy and prefer larger folders, so when I was making the same 8 vs. horseman decision, I chose the 8.

Now if you feel the Commander is a "pretty big knife", you're probably better off with the Horseman.

The 8's handle and blade are longer than the Commanders, but skinnier and more compact when folded, which to me feels smaller and is more comfortable in my pocket. I don't own a Commander, but the same holds true when compared to my ZT 561. The 561 is shorter, and thinner than the 8, but when folded is much wider and feels bigger in the pocket. Judging from all the comparison picks I looked at when deciding on a Commander or 8, the smaller Commander would have felt bigger in the pocket.

Anyway, that's how I decided on the 8, and I'm happy with the purchase. Hope that makes sense.
 
Your deli a is like mine wait for a Lefty Commander with serration's that is 60 day out from EKI, or pick up a Lefty CQC-7 now with serration's now.
 
That is a hard choice.. If it were me I'd wait for the commander, it'll just be that much sweeter when you get it
 
Horseman it is!! Thanks guys. Also, this will be the first time I'm getting the stonewash satin finish. Hopefully I like it..
 
I have sorta' big hands, and thus far have had 4 Horseman and 1 CQC-8. I'm about to buy my 5th Horseman. I've also had Super, "regular" and Mini Commander's, 11, 15, 7 in S,R & M, and a bunch of other EKI's. The Horseman is a top 5 "must have".
 
I would definitely go with the Horseman. Despite being a shrunken version of the CQC-8, it's still a very substantial knife with plenty of real estate to grab onto. And considering you still get over 3 inches of blade length, there's really nothing "mini" about it.

It was one of my favorites till I had to part ways with it. One day I'll have another, but with a stonewashed blade :thumbup:

CQC-8 relative size comparison with other popular knives. The Commander and 561 are both 3.75" blades and 8.75" overall length.

Yeah, I agree, I really need to pick up a Commander.
