Hey all,

I'm having trouble finding examples for a biochemical process and I need to draw a block diagram for it. It for my upcoming midterm.

Here is the question verbatim. Please help if you can:

The class is Biochemicl Engineerng Principles

Describe a biochemical engineering process and draw a block diagram.
-Describe the type of fermenter, product, enzyme, agitation etc...

What are separation challenges for the process?

What are some separation processes?

Describe how to find the kLa for the fermenter design.

It seems like a simple enough question, and if you spent a couple hours studying you would have the answers . . . but you cannot even spell the name of the course correctly. I think you should forget about this class and either withdraw or take an incomplete.

It's actually difficult to find a block diagram. I known the enzyme kinetics, fermentation design, find kLa, separation of product from aqueous solution, etc... but actually showing a real world application has been difficult to find, especially since I'm more focused on water treatment design, not chemical products. I'm outsourcing for help b/c my textbooks and fellow classmates are also having trouble.

As for the title of the class being misspelled, blame my professor, since I copied it from the syllabus and pasted it here.

Seems to me you need to have a few BEERS and think it over a little.... ;)

Don't be silly. What do BEERS have to do with enzyme kinetics, fermentation design, find kLa, separation of product from aqueous solution, etc., in a real world application?

Doh! :p

Yes, the process for making beer is a biochemical process, but I need an example with flow in, flow out, sparger, and impeller data, which I haven't been able to find.
