If you know someone willing to pay $5000 for one of these please let me know. I have a few that I'd be willing to part with at that price. This exact bayonet sold on ebay on March 23 for $860.88. Here's a link to the completed auction:

It's interesting that you should post an inquiry about this particular bayonet #075. Just yesterday I received photos of this bayonet from a person in China who claims to own it. Why are you asking about it?

Incidentially, the bayonet appears to be genuine.

Was it a legitimate offer??? Or did he have a suitcase full of # 075's...

The one that sold on ebay was 100%. I believe the one shown in this link above is the same bayonet. To the best of my knowledge these have not been reproduced or phonied (yet). My communications with the person from China are difficult at best because I do not speak Chinese and their English is rather disjointed. I believe what this person was telling me was that they had recently purchased this #075 bayonet. I do not know if that is true or not.

that's why I am asking you guys;) a friend of mine from China gave me a link to this knife, he wanted me to ID it. I owned a lot of knives, but I knew little about old skool Buck's.

the point is, the one who post it for sale is asking for $5000:eek:

The person I've been corresponding with who claims to own this #075 knife does not seem like a decent person to deal with. I would advise people to stay away from him (or her).

Where did you see this bayonet listed for $5000?

a Chinese forum.
so far theres no one shows interest to this knife, obviously it's overpriced.
anyway, it's none of my business, I just want to figure out the real value of it.
interesting, isn't it:)
you have a good night!

Let me add some information to this discussion. First of all, my daughter sold the #75 on eBay for one of my consignment customers a few weeks ago. The knife is 100% legitimate. After payment was received by my daughter, I sent the knife to the address requested by the buyer and it was in Flushing, NY (where Shea stadium is situated). I can say that the buyer's surname was Chinese in origin. That is the extent of my knowledge about the knife and the purchaser.

Hi Larry,

I didn't have any real doubt about the bayonet, just the intentions of the person who claims to be the current owner. He sent me photos of the bayonet claiming to own it (I assumed in China) and now someone else said they saw it for sale on a Chinese forum. I've heard from this individual several times over the past two years and they want me to send them $1000+ bayonets in China and when they receive them they'll send me the money. I have a feeling that they would never receive the bayonets and I'd be out a lot of money. Needless to say, we have not conducted any business.

There seems to be a large Chinese presence in NYC...They even publish a Chinese language newspaper there and send it around the country. One of my patrons gets it. Seems to be all current news...Well, the pics are current, anyway... :)

(The copyright is written in English, which is why I know it's published in NYC) ;)

I visited Flushing NY in 1965, with my parents...I still have that #$%^& song rattling around in my head..."It's A Small World After All"... :grumpy:

Yah, it’s a small small world. Maybe we stood in line together and didn’t know it. I liked sitting in the Chrysler Turbine though. That was cool.

I liked The People Wall, with the multiple pics/video of the Formula 1 cars roaring along...And Joie Chitwoods Death Dodgers, or whatever they called them then... :D

(Thrilldrivers?)
