Need id help on these TRADE AXES and tools

These were found on one of the main canoe routes used by fur traders 200 years ago. They were found just under the surface in what looks like and old canvas bag. These were found 20 years ago and have been sitting in a closet ever since. Any info would be great!

Axes like that were made in Canada at least into the 1950's. Most of them were exported to Latin America where the style is popular.

The one on top was made by Burgess Tools Limited between 1945 and 1952.

Very cool find. Classic wrap & welded bits. Comparasin to those recent manufactured axes shown above, its similarity of shape is all. Otherwise considerably different construction.

Clean up should reveal if they are iron & steel. But kind of pointless to determine age.
Probably best clue is touchmark of that upper example. Possibly trackable to a local Smith or Smithy.
