Need ideas for a WSS Give-Away... 5K!

Good Day,

I recently had a bunch of stuff going on, centered on my marriage.

And, sometime in there, or since, I passed 5000 posts.

So, in the spirit of that sort of thing, I am going to do a give-away. I have a survival video (I'll not say which one...), a knife and sheath, and a sheath package that I will be giving away....

But, I need a contest!

So, I make no promises as to whether or not I will use your idea, but I would like to hear some ideas.

And remember, I have multiple prizes, so we need a contest that will be accessible to all, so that they will want to participate.

This is the knife and sheath to be given away, an AG Russell Woodwalker, with one of my sheaths.

:D I have a great idea. Try to make a shelter out of nothing but debris. Also, you can only use a 10 inch or shorter knife without no survival supplies on board.:D
 
How about to enter you have to post a how to of some kind, that is WSS related. Could a video, pictorial, or just descriptive or all 3.

Then either chose the best or use there entry as the # and use a random # as the winner.

But at least they have to work to enter and add content to the board and not just throw out the"I'm in" post.

This has been done a few times, a bout a year or so ago, ESEE did a contest like it...

I prefer interactive give-away/contest.

How about where ya have to post and try to convince us why a certain knife is a must have !

ie: Imagine ya trying to sell your favourite knife to everyone on here, describing why it is so good and better than other knives !

like that its not one particular objective
really enjoy skills threads
almost always learn something
 
Photo contest ideas: Prettiest Nature picture. Best picture showing W&SS skill/activity. (might want to consider requiring pictures be recent, or taken for this contest)
 
Marion, hey

Get a bung out of it. Prize goes for the best idea for the novel use of Kydex retainer on a pack strap. Something a bit different from knives, lighters, torches, batteries and blah, perhaps GPS or something.
 
Best pic of our better half( taken after the comp starts, not some pic from 10 years ago !) in the great outdoors !
 
New Idea:

Winner of the contest is the person who posts the best contest idea in this thread. :P
 
Could require contestants to describe how they best use their primary hobby (knives, knife collecting, etc) to support other hobbies that they (or spouse or significant other) have.
 
As the give-away is a small knife how about pics of making a fire using ya smallest blade !

Well I would write a lovely thank you post to all the little people, at least the ones under 6'5" and under 300 pounds.

Ok a real contest, be funny, in a post, not on looks.

I like that idea! I've been wondering just how small a knife I can get by with and fire-making would certainly be a good test.

pit posted a thread with a video of him making a fire with fatwood and NO knife! :rolleyes:

i'm sure a mini utility knife will prep wood and strike sparks. that's about a 3/8" or 1/2" blade.

Good ideas here, but I am so distracted battling Paypal that it will be 'til after I get done with them before I can do anything.

Well,

Things are kinda back on track, or they will be once I recover from the rodgering I got from Paypal.
