Howdy - got directed over here from KFC, and I think it was good advice *s*. I have an old 110 acquired new circa late 60's. It has inverted BUCK USA on the blade & the sheath is stamped 110 on the belt loop. It has only one pin through the wood inserts on the handle. What "generation" is this thing, and when did Buck start manufacturing the 110? I bought this one while a cadet at USAFA before I graduated in '68. What would approximate value be - its well used and often sharpened, but clean, no dings or scratches on blade or bolsters.

Raptor,

If the sheath is original, it was made around 1967-68. That style sheath was only used then. In late 67 we added the USA to the blade stamp. It sounds like a fairly uncommon version without the normal inlay rivets. A quick check shows a knife like yours, in unused condition, to be worth around $150 to $200.

The key here is history. As an academy grad, you know the value of history. If, - IF - you have a pictrue of yourself with the knife, even on your belt, and you can include some other pictures (in uniform) to go along with it, the value of the knofe just doubled. Did you go to Nam with it? (many '68 grads did go straight to PRVN) Triple the value! There are a BUNCH of Militaria collectors out there. If you can put together a nice package of pictures, papers, etc. to go with the knife you have got a real winner. You did not describe fully the blade marks. Any dots? Exactly how thick is the bolster (in .0000) that is the easy way to tell me a couple of things.

Joe is right about values, but more things can apply here.
