Greetings to all,
On January 2014 I bought a Husky forest axe. The axe is a superb piece of tool and i have used it a lot.Though i cant recognize the manufacturer of my axe. The shape of the axe is different from the new Hults Bruks shape and thoufh it looks like a wetterlings it has no evident forge marks on it.
I also mention that the axe head has NO markings, so its difficult gor me to figure it out. Your opinions?
thank you in advance...

I have one of the new husky's and it has a very pronounced stamp near the edge, this sure looks older
I cant figure out if its an older model because the dealer bought them at 2014 year. So do you think it might be a non marked wetterlings?
It confuses me because the eye of the axe or the upper edge hasnt got any tool marks.I think that the older models had markings of the various manufacturersor the husqvarna logo stamped on the axe head. The overal shape looks like a Gb.Its a mystery!!

I bought mine this past summer, so I'd be surprised if they changed it entirely. Someone who knows more will jump in

I dont think that mine is a hand forged one. Maybe because of the competition around they have make a step up in quality control? Maybe they have started to produce them in house? Maybe its anothers companys unmarked product? Lets see who will jump in...

I would think it unlikely that Husqvarna have started producing their own axes, with all the costs involved in starting up that kind of operation. The OPs axe looks like a Hultafors classic to me, but I have been known to be wrong.

It sure looks like an Hultafors BUT if you observe the Hult carefully you will notice a slight upper edge. This one has an absolute straight edge.I will post more pictures in order to help.

Did you buy this axe new from a retailer or secondhand? If it's new you might be able to just call up Husqvarna and ask.

I bought it from a retailer but he dint know to tell me although i asked him. I believe this was a new supply.

You may have to navigate some phone trees or emails but if you contact Husky directly and tell them "Hey guys, I LOVE this axe I bought from Bobs Axe-O-Rama in Dogpatch USA on the 17th of last month. Could you tell me where it was forged so I can tell all my friends to run out and buy one too?" they might be able to tell you where that lot was manufactured.

Alternately they may not track that or not care to make the effort to find out for you but it might be worth a shot.

I think that the part number is the same for e.g The Husqvarna forest axe or multipurprose axe as they call it. The only think that changes is the supplier.I ll try emailing them .Maybe Ill find an answer. I think that it might be the first time that a husky axe doesnt have a supplier sign. A new era maybe?
