Hello! this is my first post on this forum, for many years ago i got a khukuri form my unkle, but he didnt know anything about the knife he had bought for me, he just knew that i liked knifes and that it would look good in my smal collection.
so one day i was reminded on that i got this knife but didnt know anything about it, hopefully the expertise on this forum can help me out?:)
i only have this photos of it at the time, but ill try to get some bether ones later if they are needed..

It is a copy of Kukhuri made in India. The real thing would be made in Nepal. I can't tell you anything about it other than that. Take care.

It looks quite similar in general to a "tourist" model khukuri I bought at an outdoor market in a small town in England in about 1975.
Relatively crudely done & not meant for serious use, mine appears to be chrome plated & is "decorated" with the same punch engraving.

okay, my unkle bought it in a pawnshop in sweden, the blade has been grinded down so its not sharp any more.
it looks like it have been used. the sheat has marks that indicates that.
also i only got the sharpning "knife" the other smal knife was missing when i he got it:(
but thanks any way!

Yeah, that appears to be a tourist model from India. Typically, the heat treat on these are spotty if they have been heat treated at all. What you have there is a beautiful knife and a wonderful gift from a thoughtful uncle.:):thumbup:

If you are interested in "real deal" khukuri's, you might check out the Himalayan Imports forum.
