hi, im looking for information on a sog knife i inherited from my dad a few weeks ago. i've identified it as a serrated airsog but i can find remarkably little information on it, which makes me wonder if its rare. all i can tell you is its definitly an airsog, it was made in seki, japan, its got a serrated clip point blade and it comes in a pouch, no pocket clip. could anyone tell me something about this knife? rarity? value? im drawing a blank.

IMO its not rare was a mass produced lower priced knife that did not do so well because it did not have pocket clip and a full serrareted blade and from the looks of it does not have a pivot that can be tightened so it would develop side to side blade play over time and use. As for value little to none but its a Knife and they all have a value when you need one and do not have one. Use it enjoy it

I have an Airsog that I got back in 2003 or 2004. When I used it back then, I used it mainly as a steak knife. Bet it would make a good seatbelt or strap cutter. So there is a good chance that it will go fishing and boating with me this coming summer.

Just compared the Pivot to my Seki-Japan made Spyderco's and it's the same. If that pivot is good enough for a modern Spyderco Gentleman's knife, it's good enough for an older SOG Gentleman's knife. ;)
