I've recently developed an interest in slip-joints. I've been looking for a < 3in. pocket knife with more than one blade that I like. I've never owned a Boker, but they have several models in this range that look appealing.

Any impressions/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Clay

My impressions of Boker is that some of their knives are great designs and execution, but some don't make the grade. The quality range is wide, like Buck. The german ones are usually superior to the argetinian knives. I'd suggest examining before buying if possible.

Boker's Applegate Fairburn fighting knife is a good one. Also they make a couple of hunting knives in 440C that look good, although I have not read any reviews of their performance. I have read some comments that Boker does a good job with 440C, though.

I think with slip joints you want avoid most with stainless steel blades, since what is used is usually low grade 420 or 440A steel. Case stainless knives in particular have a bad reputation. However, their carbon steel models get good marks.

A lot of people seem to like Queen knives that come with D2 blades. If you don't mind paying more for high end stainless, A.G. Russell sells some slip joints that have ATS-34 or 154CM blades.
