Hey guys I found a Buck 184 at a local pawnshop for $40 :D . It doesn't have the original sheath but otherwise it's in great condition. This one doesn't say Buckmaster down the side of the blade though. It says Buck 184 Pat. Pending down in the usual position and it has a polished finish instead of the bead blasted finish. Any info you gurus might have on this one would be great. Also if any of you have an original sheath that you might part with please let me know. Thanks guys and I'd like to say that some of you all really have some amazing knives. I'll try to get some pix up as soon as I can.

wow! polished as in just the blade alone, or polished as in = the entire knife guard, anchor pins, handle, pommel/butt cap and all?
btw, there are dedicated sites specifically on the buckmaster; if you haven't searched already searched those places by now...

The blade, handle, butt cap are polished the knife guard is not polished. The pins aren't polished either and they are different from the ones I've seen on most of the Buckmasters they are bullet shaped instead of the really fine pointed ones.

I'm going to try and get the pix up tonight.

Thanks for the links.

Thanks again for the link GIRLYmann. So far I've found out that my knife was made in 1985. Not sure about the pins in mine though they may be something that someone made or something. Finding an original sheath is not likely though.

Yep I got lucky on this one, even though it doesn't have the original sheath or anything. It was still a great deal. I just hope I can find an original sheath somewhere for less than $100 then that would be great.
