My stepfather passed away two years ago and I was about to throw out and old bag of his today I found a hunting knife made by Edge in Western Solingen Germany. I have been looking for some info on this knife to see its value. It is real good looking knife which I plan to pass to my son but was interested in its value, if any. Can anyone enlighten me?

Are there any model numbers on this knife? Can you describe it?

The Edge knives that I have seen do not have a very high value. I have seen quite a few selling on Cuttingedge.com for under $50.00.

Keith, it has a 5.5 inch narrow blade, almost like a stilletto. It has blood grooves on both sides. One side of the blade is stamped 487, close to the guard. The other side has Edge Brand, Solingen, Germany. The guard and butt both have a pronounced drop for protection and are made of aluminum, I think. Maybe stainless but I believe they are aluminum. The handle is made of spacers of aluminum? and some sort of black material. The scabbard is of black leather, embossed with a deer and stamped Edge Brand. On the belt loop is stamped Solinge, Western Germany. I thought that the fact it says western germany might raise the value a bit. Thank for help. Mike
