Hello All,

Picked this up at a garage sale today. I never saw one before. Is this a new, old, or just a common Imperial knife?

hi, ive got a 1979 imperial advertisement for this knife, this is right around when they came out.yours might be a little harder to find because of its nice condition.

I looked through my materials from that era, and I have nothing on them. I did contact a knowledgable Imperial collector about your post, but he declined to come here and identify the knife, and didn't offer to give me the info. Sorry I can't help you with this one.

tthman, can you post a scan of the ad? Tell us what magazine issue?

1st released in 1976 in the Taskmasters line. There were four knives in the line: Deerslayer, Backpacker, Wildcat Skinner and the Pro Guide. The first three of these are folders.

This was just sent to me.

hi, that scan is what i had , i bought a whole stack of this imperial stuff of the frontiers double eagles etc. off ebay about a year ago. 2 dollers plus postage.cant beat that deal, but that is what i went on.nice looking knife that guy has.

Codger, tthman,
Thanks I knew you guys would find something. I quess this knife is a good garage sale find. It came in a nylon shealth but I don't think its original because it does not have a logo. The guy I bought it from wanted $5.00 but there was a spot of surface rust on the end by the lock so I got it for $4.00.
He said he had a lot of knives but the kids bought them all before I got there.
Wonder what I missed?????
