I received a sword from a family member, they had no info on it and I am having trouble finding any info on the internet. It is a NS Meyer Saber.
~On one side of the blade the engraving reads REPUBLICA DOMNICANA and DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD. Directly above the pommel/ hand guard on the same side it reads TRADE CONQUEROR MARK and under that is the NS MEYER INC. NEW YORK stamp.
~on the opposite side of the blade the engraving reads EJERCITO NACIONAL. Directly above the pommel/ hand guard is an engraved Star of David with the word ROVED on a brass circle in the center of the Star.
Any info on this blade would be great, where it came from what year it may have been made etc
thanks

20th century export, it would seem. A picture would say a lot as to what form of sword you are looking into information for. The Conquerer mark is a grade of swords, such as Colonial, Spartan, etc. The Proved brass plug probably points to GErman/Solingen manufacture but could have come from a number of makers. and sold through Meyer. A little of your own time with Google and running Meyer information will show a good bit. IIRC the company was listed from 1875-1992, so that ois quite a broad range in time especially without showing the sword.

There is an old article here that shows some of the South American swords

I have a hunch you may have some form of the American m1902 sword for all officers. Some had an eagle pommel with jem eyes and it would look fairly fancy with lots of hilt detail along with the blade etching.

The star is not the Star of David but generally regarded as two triangles together meaning double proof.
