Need info on old axe

Evening fellows, I have an axe that I found laying in the road back in the late 70's on one side is stamped Kelly axe and tool works Charleston WVA.USA. on the other side is a large G inside a square. on the border of the square it says superior quality finest finish. around this in a circle is stamped ?garnich & Sons ----Ashland Wisconsin Can anyone provide any info? or direct me to somewhere that could?
